本研究係以2006年經濟部統計處「製造業對外投資實況調查」之廠商問卷資料為分析對象，運用Stata軟體設計經濟計量模型，建立Probit模型進行實證分析，並分別從策略因素、營運因素及組織因素等3方面，探討廠商從事對外投資後對國內產品技術提升之影響。本研究實證發現，「當地市場發展潛力大」、「最主要對外投資地區為開發中國家」、「垂直分工」、「海外產品回銷母國比率」、「廠商規模」及「資訊電子業」等六項變數對於國內產品技術提升有顯著影響，亦即是影響國內產品技術提升投資決策之重要決定因素。
