摘要
個人在團體中的表現(performance)是一個有趣的問題。實證研究發現，團體對個人的表現有時具正面影響(社會助長現象)，有時又是負面影響(社會抑制及社會閒散)。
為了更深入瞭解人們在團體中工作的行為，本研究設計了一個工作情境，探討下列3個變項對團體中個人工作表現的影響:(1)工作類型(總和性、非相連性、相連性工作),(2)工作能力(團體中最高、最低),(3)酬賞分配方式(公平分配、均等分配)。並附帶探討上述三變項對不同性別者工作表現的影響。
結果發現:公平分配情況下受試工作較努力，工作產量高於均等分配情況下，但公平分配並不能去除每組受試間工作產量的差異，亦即不論公平分配或均等分配情況下，受試的工作表現都會受工作類型與工作能力的影響:在總和性工作上，低能力組工作產量高於高能力組;在非相連性工作上，高能力組工作產量高於低能力組(但此差異未達顯著);在相連性工作上，低能力組工作產量高於高能力組。對不同性別的受試，此三變項對工作產量的影響也有不同。根據實驗所得結果，本論文最後討論了研究結果的意義與啟示。
