本研究的主要目的是希望能夠建構出一個評估模式，提供給相關業者做為在篩選投資案時的參考。在研究方法的設計上，主要是先透過國內、外文獻的探討歸納出14項重要的評估因素，然後再利用實驗設計中的不對稱直交排列法，去設計出二十個假設的投資案，以形成問卷的主要內容。問卷的發放是採郵寄方式，總共發放二十份問卷，實際回收的有效問卷數為十九份(回收率95%)。
而在資料的分析上，主要是利用PROB IT MODEL 進行。而結果顯示出專利技術、創業投資公司對該產品市場的熟悉度、預期投資報酬率的風險、事業發展階段以及管理團隊的經驗五項評估因素，對創業投資公司的投資經理人員在評估投資案時具有顯著的影響。最後，根據所建立的評估模式進行有效度測式，得出正確率為61. 40% ，顯示該評估模式具有適當的評估能力。
