在社群媒體深度嵌入日常生活的當代社會中,關鍵意見領袖(Key Opinion Leader, KOL)已成為人們資訊判斷與消費決策的重要參照對象。然而,KOL之所以「被信任」,並不單純來自其個人特質或內容品質,而是深深嵌入於其所處文化脈絡中對可信角色的集體期待之中,不同社會對KOL的語言風格、角色形象、互動方式與價值展演有著不同標準,這些文化基礎進一步影響其信任機制、社群互動方式與商業實踐。
為釐清KOL如何在文化脈絡中建構信任並轉化為可行的商業模式,本文以文化脈絡、信任機制、社群互動方式與商業模式為核心分析變數,採用質性多重個案研究法,選取四位風格與文化背景各異的KOL進行深入分析,分別為來自台灣的周品均與曲博,以及來自阿拉伯世界的Fouz Al Fahad與Ahmed El Ghandour。透過跨文化比較與類型化觀察,本文試圖理解:KOL的信任如何在文化脈絡中生成?不同信任類型如何形塑社群互動方式?而這些互動又如何進一步影響商業模式的內容、結構與治理?
研究發現,KOL的實踐方式受到文化脈絡與內容風格的共同形塑,並展現出四種信任類型。台灣的生活美感型KOL周品均透過真誠語調、日常陪伴與自我揭露,建立療癒共感型信任,並發展出以付費會員、品牌經營與聯名商品為主的長期經營策略;阿拉伯的生活美感型KOL Fouz Al Fahad則融合中東對端莊形象、高端審美與家庭價值的文化期待,透過精緻形象與角色展演建立角色認同型信任,並延伸至精品合作、自創美妝品牌與實體沙龍服務。台灣的知識傳播型KOL曲博以專業背景、邏輯清晰與結構化知識轉譯建立專業信任型信任,並透過數位課程、演講、書籍與知識平台實現知識變現;阿拉伯的知識傳播型KOL Ahmed El Ghandour則結合文化幽默、敘事風格與角色扮演,建立敘事洞察型信任,吸引觀眾參與迷因再製、剪輯轉傳與評論補充,並透過主流影音平台、IP授權與動畫合作擴大內容影響力與商業價值。
綜上所述,本文建構出一條「文化脈絡 → 信任機制 → 社群互動方式 → 商業模式」的轉換邏輯路徑,並進一步指出,KOL的商業成功並非單純來自技術性平台操作或內容流量,而是文化脈絡、信任類型與社群互動方式層層轉化後所形成的信任變現結果。此研究不僅補足現有文獻中對KOL信任機制與文化背景交互關係的探討空缺,也為品牌與內容創作者在多元文化市場中制定本土化策略、KOL合作策略與商業模式設計提供理論基礎與實務參考。
In contemporary society, where social media has become deeply embedded in everyday life, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) have become important reference points for individuals in making informational judgments and consumption decisions. However, the reason why KOLs are trusted does not simply lie in their personal traits or content quality, but is deeply embedded in the collective expectations of trustworthy roles within their cultural contexts. Different societies hold different standards regarding KOLs’ language styles, role images, interaction patterns, and value expressions. These cultural foundations further shape their trust mechanisms, community interaction strategies, and commercial practices.
To examine how KOLs construct trust within cultural contexts and transform such trust into viable business models, this study adopts cultural context, trust mechanism, community interaction strategy, and business model as its core analytical variables. Using a qualitative multiple-case study approach, this research analyzes four KOLs with distinct cultural backgrounds and content styles: Mayuki Chou and Dr. Jefferey Chiu from Taiwan, and Fouz Al Fahad and Ahmed El Ghandour from the Arab world. Through cross-cultural comparison and typological analysis, this study seeks to understand how KOL trust is constructed within cultural contexts, how different types of trust shape community interaction strategies, and how these interactions further influence the content, structure, and governance of business models.
The findings show that KOL practices are jointly shaped by cultural contexts and content styles, resulting in four typical trust types. Taiwanese lifestyle-oriented KOL Mayuki Chou builds healing and empathetic trust through a sincere tone, daily companionship, and personal disclosure, leading to long-term relationship-driven strategies such as paid memberships, self-branded products, and co-branded collaborations. Arab lifestyle-oriented KOL Fouz Al Fahad integrates Middle Eastern cultural expectations regarding dignified appearance, premium aesthetics, and family values. Through refined visual presentation and role performance, she builds role-identification-based trust, which further extends to luxury brand collaborations, self-owned beauty products, and offline salon services. Taiwanese knowledge-oriented KOL Dr. Jefferey Chiu builds professional trust through professional credentials, logical clarity, and structured knowledge translation, and monetizes knowledge through digital courses, public speaking, books, and knowledge platforms. Arab knowledge-oriented KOL Ahmed El Ghandour combines cultural humor, narrative style, and role-playing to build narrative-insight-based trust, encouraging audiences to participate in meme recreation, video clipping and sharing, and comment-based knowledge supplementation. His commercial value is further expanded through major media platforms, IP licensing, and animation collaborations.
In conclusion, this study constructs a logical transformation pathway of “cultural context → trust mechanism → community interaction strategy → business model.” It further argues that the commercial success of KOLs does not merely result from technical platform operation or content traffic, but from the monetization of trust formed through the layered transformation of cultural context, trust types, and community interaction strategies. This study not only addresses a gap in the existing literature concerning the relationship between KOL trust mechanisms and cultural backgrounds, but also provides theoretical foundations and practical insights for brands and content creators in designing localization strategies, KOL collaboration strategies, and business models in multicultural markets.
