  • The acceleration of digitalization brought by COVID-19 to the world gives the government and non-government organizations alike an opportunity to follow the trend. The rise of the platform economy and the increasing acceptance of digital services in the country makes this the perfect time to make the shift. By looking at different solutions implemented worldwide and adopting their best practices, the Philippines can adopt the same models and apply them to amplify and scale the humanitarian responses. While aid distribution comes in various forms, this paper seeks to show the benefits of adopting a digital-first approach to food aid distribution by proposing a digital community pantry as a model.
