本文的目的主要是根據Batro的模型，檢討如果放棄了完全競爭的假設後，由Heckscher-Ohlin-Samuelson模型得來的若干定理是否仍然成立，同時證明自由貿易政策是否為最佳政策。
首先在第二章中，假設生產因素市場為不完全競爭市場時，探討上述三個定理是否仍然成立的問題。Batro的模型就兩產業間發生工資差異的情形予以討論，本文是假設兩產業間資本報酬發生差異時，針對上述三個定理予以探討，並證明在此情況下自由貿易政策不再是最佳政策了。第三章中假設商品市場為獨佔市場時，討論上述三個定理是否然然成立及貿易利益的問題，並更進一步探討貿易政策問題，對Batro所述予以延伸補充。而在第四章裡對於所探討的結果提出結論。
