雲端運算的應用在現今已經被許多企業所採納,而其中的雲端儲存服務也是近期企業考量的重點之一,現今雲端儲存相關文獻所探討的方案大都圍繞在全部自建儲存環境,或全部採用租賃第三方雲端儲存服務這兩種方案去做成本的比較與分析,但考量到實際營運上有些資料仍需要留在企業內部管理,企業較不可能採用將資料完全搬上雲端的方式,因此本研究著重在分析全部自建或混合這兩種方案,考慮許多儲存成本相關的隨機因子後,建立一隨機成本模型,並將利用R語言撰寫程式進行模擬分析,研究結果期望能提供企業做雲端儲存相關決策時參考。
Cloud computing is adopted by many enterprises nowadays, and cloud storage is also one of the most important topics pertaining to cloud services. Almost all prior studies on enterprise migration to cloud storage focus on full in-house (make) versus full outsourcing (buy) options. However, the full outsourcing is not realistic, as firms typically have some data that are not feasible for cloud storage and need to stay in-house. In this paper, we incorporate relevant cost factors of in-house and cloud storage into a hybrid stochastic cost model of data storage. The hybrid model subsumes both full in-house and full outsourcing options. We will perform a comprehensive simulation analysis using R, in order to identify critical cost factors and understand their effects on cost performance of different storage options. Our modeling effort aims to facilitate managerial decisions regarding cloud storage.
