2050 Net-Zero outlines manageable progress to try to control the global temperature increment within 1.5°C. Realizing the importance of this initiation, Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050 is recently launched. Given the truth that the process related to power generation is the greatest polluter among sectors, this research focuses on energy transition.
In order to enable energy transition, we discuss the investment need, existing investment, investment gap, and the need for growth of existing investment. By applying several methodologies, the result indicates the investment need is ranging NT$1.91 trillion~ 25.857 trillion (€57~ 805 billion), the existing investment is NT$92.16 billion (€2.88 billion), and the need for CAGR of existing investment to meet the investment need is ranging 10.86%~21.94%.
