摘要
本研究主要的目的有二:一是想要了解目前一般人對大專科系的性別刻板印象，是否隨著時代的演進而有所改變。二是探討個人因素:包括性別、年齡、有否異性朋友、性別角色態度、個人現代性及環境因素:包括父母教育程度、家庭經濟狀況、父母、配偶或異性朋友的態度與科系適切性、逃避事業成就傾向、對就讀科系感興趣程度、學業成績、學校適應的關係。
本研究分二階段進行，第一階段為預試，以大學男、女學生205名為受試樣本，進行「科系角色刻板印象量表」的評量。第二階段為正式測驗，根據預試的結果，選出六個一般認為最適合男性就讀的科系(機械工程、土木工程、電機工程、化學工程、森林、政治)及二個一般認為最適合女性就讀的科系(護理、家政)。經由各相關科系中，找出實際在這些科系中就讀的男、女受試共464名，施予正式問卷的評量。所有變項經由因素分析、t考驗、單因子變異數分析、逐步迴歸、皮爾森積差相關等統計分析之後，所得之主要結果如下:
1.年齡，有無固定異性朋友會影響一個人是否選擇適性的科系。年齡愈大，愈可能選擇不適性的科系。而在就讀適性科系的受訪者中，無異性朋友者多於有異性朋友者，在就讀不適性科系的受訪者中亦然。
2.父母親對受試所就讀科系的態度與科系適切性之間是有關係存在。受試就讀的科系愈適性，父母親也就愈贊成其所就讀的科系。
3.性別、有無固定異性朋友、個人現代性及性別角色態度對逃避事業成就傾向整體態度及不同的因素上有顯著的影響。女性比男性有較高的逃避事業成就傾向，更擔心事業發展會對交友擇偶、配偶相處有不利的影響。無異性朋友者比有異性朋友者更擔心事業發展會對交友擇偶有不利的影響。個人現代性低者比個人現代性高者有較高的逃避事業成就傾向，要擔心事業發展會對交友擇偶、配偶相處、工作壓力、生活情趣、人己關係有不利的影響。而在性別角色態度方面，則發現女性化者有最高的逃避事業成就傾向，最擔心事業發展會對家庭生活、交友擇偶、配偶相處、工作壓力、生活情趣、人己關係有不利的影響。男性化者、兩性化者則有較低的逃避事業成就傾向，較不擔心事業發展會對交友擇偶、配偶相處、工作壓力、生活情趣、人己關係有不利的影響。
4.父母親對受試所就讀科系的態度對逃避事業成就傾向整體態度及不同因素上有顯著的影響。父親愈贊成受試所就讀的科系，則受試愈擔心事業發展會對配偶相處有不利的影響，而母親愈贊成受試所就讀的科系，則受試的逃避事業成就傾向愈高，愈擔心事業發展會對交友擇友、配偶相處有不利的影響。
5.科系的適性與否不影響逃避事業成就傾向。
6.逃避事業成就傾向會影響到科系興趣量表因素四(前途感)及學業成績。逃避事業成就傾向愈高者，即愈擔心事業發展會對家庭生活、交友擇友、配偶相處、工作壓力、生活情趣、人己關係有不利影響者，其對未來的前途感就愈低。而愈擔心事業發展會對工作壓力有不利影響者，其學業成績反而愈高。
7.各變項對逃避事業成就傾向廻歸預測的結果，發現性別、男性化特質、個人現代性是影響逃避事業成就傾向最重要的三個變項。
8.各變項對就讀科系感興趣程度廻歸預測的結果，發現周圍重要人物(包括:配偶或異性朋友、父母親)對受試所就讀科系的態度，會影響到他們對本身就讀科系感興趣的程度。
