檢視文化角色、跨文化溝通現象、和語言在思考與文化的價值。並討論透過文化認知在以英語為外語課中教學運用。以問卷及晤談分析學生對此教學法的反應。文化認知可視為語言教學的輔助並提供處理跨文化溝通問題的管道，亦提出教師文化背景欠缺的因應之道。
Roles of culture, phenomena in cross-cultural communication, and language in thought and culture are reviewed. Pedagogical applications through stimulation of cultural awareness in the EFL classroom are presented. Students' responses to the pedagogy based on the questionnaire and interviews are analyzed and interpreted. Cultural awareness can be seen as an aid to language learning and provides a channel to manage cross-cultural communication. Suggestions to improve the situation of insufficient cultural background for teachers are also given.
