論文提要

本文乃以研究美國政治學者裴陸生（Lucian W. Pye,1921—）的政治理論為目的，其內容大要如后：

第一章 導論。首先敘述裴陸生的生平及主要著作，並探討其研究重點轉變的軌跡；其次則探討裴陸生研究所使用的研究法（approach）與研究方法（method），以了解他對方法論問題的看法；後提出研究裴陸生政治理論的幾個角度，做為本文的分析架構。

第二章 裴陸生政治理論中的三箇基本槪念。先則探討過渡政治的特徵；再則扼要介紹他與SSRC成員建立的政治發展危機說；然後探討裴氏對政治文化槪念的起源、定義、內容和槪念化問題的看法。

第三章 政治文化的危機之一―認同危機。先則槪述認同危機的意義；繼則分析認同危機的類型與解決認同危機的方法；隨後則介紹裴氏對緬甸箇案之研究。

第四章 政治文化的危機之二―合法性危機。首先分析合法性危機的意義、起因和解決之道；其次則介紹裴氏對中國政治權威危機之研究。

第五章 過渡社會民主政治之建立。先則探討過渡社會建立民主政治之價值與困難；再則指出過渡社會建立民主政治的方法。

第六章結論。對裴氏有關研究法、政治文化、過渡政治、政治發展、民主政治的看法做扼要的評估，以了解裴氏之政治理論對政治研究的貢獻和其不足之處。
