In this thesis, we set up a vertical differentiation model to characterize the pricing strategies for Web sites which first choose the quality of the service (advertising fee) and then compete in prices (subscription fee). Then, we proceed to examine the effect of the economic condition on Web sites' revenue streams and conclude their relationship.
