在實驗情境中,所給予受試者的實驗處理事經過客觀評選而訂出的三種不同暴力等級的電視錄影節目。不同電視節目究竟會對國中學生產生何種不同效果,這也是本研究的一個目的。
學者的研究迄今為止,大多以兒童為研究對象,本研究擬在國內初長成的第一代「電視世代」中,研討學者研究結果的適用性:究竟是用於兒童的結果是否適用於青春期的國中學生?試圖解答這個問題是本研究的另一個目的。
基於上述的研究目的,本研究所要探討的主題是:具有不同焦慮程度及不同電視暴力接觸程度的國中學生,於實驗處理中觀賞不同暴力類型的電視節目,然後測量他們對暴力所持的態度,在實驗處理之前與後有無改變,以及改變的情形如何?
