本文研究的目的在強調台灣的出口擴張過程中，必須重視國內吸收能力的提高，才能減低國際經濟因素變動對台灣穩定經濟成長的衝擊，並探討在一般開發中國家較明顯存在的「出口收入不穩定性」問題，在台灣是否會發生，全文分五章進行分析。
從研究動機的澄清、題目的確定、研究架構的建立、問題的探討、以迄論文的撰寫，此期間隨時不斷蒙受恩師魯傳鼎教授的悉心指導，繼在論文初稿完成後，抱病悉心審閱，逐字斧正，指出諸多缺失與謬誤，終使本文能順利完成，在此謹向恩師致最高敬意與謝意。
受業期間承師長的教誨與啟迪，同學間的切磋與討論，受益匪淺，謹表最大的謝忱。大學同學許慶順兄撥冗幫忙設計電腦程式，俾能減少許多資料處理時間，同學馮立功與楊金龍對本文提供若干意見在此一併申謝。
